Last week I had another birthday, 83 now. Some days I feel it but other days I don't feel that old. My birthday fell on Tuesday and we went to lunch with friends. On the weekend Sonya and family came and Bernie cooked lunch for us, he is an amazing cook. The Melbourne family were coming for the weekend but they succumbed to the winter colds that are going around, especially in cold Melbourne, so they stayed home so as not to spread the germs.
I woke to a foggy morning but the balloon fairies had tied balloons to our front gate.(A village tradition)
Bernie cooked my favourite Salmon, Broccoli and Pasta.
We went for a walk around the lagoon in Underwood Park.
Bill is doing well walking without a stick or walker. He has fallen in love with his Swiss Jacket this winter. We bought it in Zermatt some years ago but he hardly ever wore it until this winter.
My neighbour's Poinsettia is looking nice. It is often regarded as a Christmas plant but it is a winter plant and that is June, July and August for us.
My neighbour, Louise gave me flowers.
A birthday hug and selfie.
The birds joined you for a walk around the lagoon in the park. I hope they were singing Happy Birthday in birdese :)
ReplyDeleteA happy and belated birthday wishes. It seems like you had a rather good time.
ReplyDeleteHappy 83, I will be 81 in 64 days. so glad to see Bill walking unassisted and I love that walk way through the trees and wish I had someone to cook a meal for me.
ReplyDeleteBelated Happy ππ Birthday to you, Diane, and it looks like you enjoyed a great celebration with a dinner and outdoor walk. So nice to see Bill and read that he is doing well Nd a great selfie of you both. Hope you have a great birthday yearπ₯
ReplyDeleteI love lilies (but have to be careful of the pollen of course) and salmon, broccoli and pasta (which, I may well decide to have for my evening meal today as I have all the ingredient handy).
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteHappy belated birthday! Beautiful photos, I love the last one of you and Bill.
Take care, have a great day!
Wishing you a belated 'happy birthday'. You're almost exactly ten years older than me and something of a role model, I feel! Inside, we all carry our younger selves, don't we?
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. Sounds like a very enjoyable way to spend the day.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed all the beautiful pictures.
That poinsettia looks amazing. Is it growing outdoors?
Happy, Happy birthday (belated) It sounds like you had a wonderful time and its so special to have your own "private" chef for that special meal.
ReplyDeleteI keep forgetting that its winter where you live as I wilt in the 100F temperatures here in California.
Happy to see the great photos of you and your Hubby and that you are getting out and about.
Love the balloon fairies gracing your gate.
Sue
Lovely pictures and a belated Happy Birthday. I am a bit behind you 82 in August. I have to admit I seldom feel my age except when digging the garden which now takes me so much longer :-)))
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday and weekend. Cheers, t'other Diane
Oh, what a lovely birthday post! Looks like you had a great day. That poinsettia, is it just one plant? We have them here but NOTHING like that! (And of course at Christmas, just as you say.) I love your birthday meal of salmon, broccoli and pasta. I bet your salmon is good. Take care! x
