Super Sunset

Last week we had a beautiful sunset. Carol and I grabbed our cameras and dashed out the back door and I called out to my friendly neighbour who lives higher up the hill behind us. I asked her if we could go up onto her balcony for a view without wires, as her house is above the electricity wires in the street below. Leanne and Damien were having dinner on their balcony but they didn't mind us intruding to take the following shots (and many, many more)

God is melting gold and painting the sky.

What was that black dot moving across my view finder? Oh! It's a bird.

Lets see if I can capture the birds.........well not very well. I wonder if they appreciate the colour in the sky?

  15. Julie: Our Neighbours here are all very friendly and often offer for us to go up there and see the sunsets so they were fine with it. She also cuts my hair. Remember this is Queensland the friendly state but a bit slow.

  19. Absolutely stunning sunset. Your photos took my breath away!!
The Postcrossing postcard project is fun - I send a postcard to someone who has registered their address and eventually I get one back from somewhere totally different. It's always good to find surprises in the mailbox. Yesterday it was cards from Finland and the USA and today it was The Netherlands.
    Have a good weekend.

  21. Wow, you're right, that is a spectacular sunset and sky. We used to have them in SA too, not so much here.

To answer your sort of question, I have been volunteering at Phillipa's play group since she has been going there, in December they approached me and asked me if I would like to work there one morning a week. I was pleased and flattered, and accepted, but in reality I cover for a few of the girls and so I end up working a couple times a week sometimes. It's nice, I really enjoy it, I never would have imagined I would, but I do.

  27. Very pretty! There are times when we have those pretty sunsets (and rises) because of pollution :-( Sad but true. Hopefully, this is because God wants you to see HIS artwork :-)
