Dr Howard Ralph

Last month I wrote a post about Howie Ralph a fellow I met at teacher's college, who is now a medical doctor and a veterinarian. He was in the news for volunteering his services to save animals burnt in the bush fires. Now he is in the news again.

Dr Howard Ralph has been nominated for a 2009 Pride of Australia medal in recognition of his devotion to saving native wildlife.

Another friend ,Keith, has more information about Dr Ralph on his blog "PNG Attitude"

  13. Kathleen I don't know how it works. They advertise in the paper to nominate people you think worthy of the award but I don't know who does the final voting.

  14. I was lucky enough to do work experience as a teen with Dr Ralph in the 80's in his vet practice at Newport. I have always said it was the best working weeks of my life. He is one of the great people of this world and if I could ever help him out in any way with the animal rescues it would be a privelege.
