Last month I wrote a post about Howie Ralph a fellow I met at teacher's college, who is now a medical doctor and a veterinarian. He was in the news for volunteering his services to save animals burnt in the bush fires. Now he is in the news again.
Dr Howard Ralph has been nominated for a 2009 Pride of Australia medal in recognition of his devotion to saving native wildlife.
Another friend ,Keith, has more information about Dr Ralph on his blog "PNG Attitude"
What a wonderful person he must be. I'd love to work with him with the animals.
ReplyDeletecongrats for him

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, and this man certainly deserves this honor. Bravo for the people who nominated him. Can we vote Diane? Please post a link if we can. I will be there in a flash!
ReplyDeleteThat's absolutely wonderful, what a fine individual and a great human being.
ReplyDeleteHe is truly a great man. Bravo for his recognition.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments.I do appreciate them.
I felt sure I had left a Comment Diane. Was here and wanted to say we could do with more like the good doctor.
ReplyDeleteThere are some lovely people about, Diane. They are not selfish, they love to give. Good luck to your friend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you and your husband.
Kathleen I don't know how it works. They advertise in the paper to nominate people you think worthy of the award but I don't know who does the final voting.
ReplyDeleteI was lucky enough to do work experience as a teen with Dr Ralph in the 80's in his vet practice at Newport. I have always said it was the best working weeks of my life. He is one of the great people of this world and if I could ever help him out in any way with the animal rescues it would be a privelege.

You should tell him that Marina.
