A DOUBLE CELEBRATION

I'm sorry to interrupt our story of settling in Australia with this "important message" (he he he ). Regard it as an ad break.

Yesterday was Mothers' Day and our 40th wedding anniversary.

I received phone calls from all my children and flowers. I LOVE flowers. I wish it was Mothers' Day every week. (They all live too far away for a visit)
In the evening we celebrated our Ruby Anniversary with friends at Toni's Restaurant.
Still happy after 40 years.
40 years ago, just before we were married. Sadly, our wedding photos were a disaster. We only knew each other a few months before we were married and many friends didn't think it would last. Funny thing is most of them have divorced but our love has continued to grow. Looks like BB's hair has slipped from his head to his chin now.
The food is good at Toni's.
We received some lovely gifts.
Ruby dessert glasses
a lovely orchid
and ruby Bromeliad

Congratulations! I love "love stories" - and your is one to remember. Bully for you both :-)
And, Happy Mother's Day to you - isn't it wonderful that at least one day a year, we hear from ALL the kids?! Love it and your flowers are pretty..

One of the gift my Step-Mother-in-law gave us was an 18 month calendar - she thought it would be over before having to buy a new one..boy, did we prove her wrong!

A belated Happy Mother's Day and also congratulations on your wedding anniversary. Loved all the pictures. Loved the before and present ones. You both look great in each. Funnily enough many of my friends told me the same thing and many of them are now divorced just like your friends. Good job we didn't listen to our friends aye? :)))

Congratulations ! that's funny we will celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary also this year in December ! With us it was even worse, we met, and the next day he moved into my appartment and a year later we married ! And as you say it still lasts while all our friends who married at the same time are divorced !

Oh how beautiful. You sure were shown a lot of love for your Mother's Day and Anniversary, and you deserved it all.

Man, what a catch with that BB. He was one handsome Dude. You were very pretty too Diane, and still are.

How wonderful!!!! Isn't it a lot of fun to sit back and reminisce of our 'youth' when we were first married. [to different men that is, not to each other....I crack myself up!] Congrats on such a life's feat of being happily married for 40 years!

And thanks for leaving a comment on our 41st anniversary blog issue.

Congratulations from me as well 40 years does it seem like only yesterday you got married. Many marriages end in divorce now days because so many young people don't seem to want to put in the hard work it takes to make a marriage work.

When I was younger I didn't like flowers much but now I love them although hubby can't seem to get that my opinion has changed
